What is an Overage?
Overage Can are Not Safe!
An overage occurs when a commercial waste container is overfilled or used improperly, such as when lids don’t close completely due to excess waste, trash is stacked on top of or around the container, or the amount of waste exceeds the service level. For safety reasons, container lids must be able to close in order for us to service them.
Each time a can is overloaded, an additional fee may be assessed. Overages can create safety hazards for our drivers, slow down collection, and result in unsightly messes around your business. If you’re experiencing frequent overages, our customer support team can help you adjust your service to better fit your needs.

How to Avoid Overage Charges
Ensure lids can close fully after each use
Overfilled containers with open lids are considered overages and may result in extra charges. They can also cause spills, attract pests, and create safety hazards during collection.
Keep all waste inside the container
Any materials left outside the container, whether stacked on the lid or placed beside it—won’t be collected and may lead to additional overage charges.
Monitor your waste output
Keep an eye on how much waste your business generates each week. Tracking your waste helps avoid overage fees and ensures you have the right-sized service for your needs.
