This landfill is a municipal solid waste landfill operating under a permit issued by the State for the disposal of municipal solid waste. We are supported by our hauling company. We are a full service solid waste disposal company. We are located just outside of Colorado Springs.
The Fountain Landfill is a modern municipal solid waste disposal facility permitted by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and is in full compliance with Colorado rules and regulations.
The Fountain Landfill is located approximately two miles east of the town of Fountain. The landfill entrance is located on Squirrel Creek Rd. making for very easy access. We are located south of Colorado Springs. The site accepts municipal solid wastes, construction/demolition wastes and special wastes with proper approval. We provide disposal services to the Colorado Springs metro area, Fountain, Widefield, Security, and other outlying and rural areas including Peyton, Calhan, Falcon, and Limon.

Fountain Landfill only accepts non-hazardous solid waste for disposal.
What do we do we take in our landfill?

Normal Household Garbage, Non-Hazardous Commercial Waste, Farm or Agricultural Waste, Municipal Solid Waste, Construction Debris, Concrete & Asphalt, Yard Waste, Clean Fill Soil, Dead Animals, White goods, Non-Hazardous Industrial Waste. With proper profile approval we also accept Waste Water Treatment Plant Sludge, Industrial Sludges, Industrial Powders, Contaminated Soil, Treated Lumber, Friable and Non-friable Asbestos.
What are things not accepted?

We do not accept: Liquid, chemicals, tires, batteries or electronics or anything with freon in it.
What is a cubic yard and how do I figure out how much I’ve got?

A cubic yard is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet.
You can measure the cubic yardage of your load by multiplying: length X width X height (in feet) then dividing by 27.
Does my load have to be covered/tarped?

An untarped load is charged double the normal cost of a load.
Can I come out to the landfill and salvage or pick through the trash?
▸
No, salvaging or “picking” is not allowed at the landfill.
Can I bring my old paint, chemicals and/or cleaning supplies to the landfill?

What if I need to get rid of asbestos/chemically contaminated soil and/or other contaminated material?

With proper documentation, we can accept some of these types of items. Please call the landfill and we will provide you information and instruction for disposing of “special waste.”
Does the landfill provide trash collection services?

No, you need to call our hauling company location at 719-591-5000.
What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept credit and debit cards only (includes American Express).
