Railroad Avenue Disposal (RAD) Landfill has a Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) permitted Class I (construction demolition) Section and also a Class II (Trees, stumps, grass, concrete, and asphalt) Section. Both sections are in full compliance with all MDEQ regulation. RAD Landfill is one of the only C&D landfills in MS that has a liner system, leachate collection, and ground water monitoring.
RAD Landfill is located approx. 1/4 mile to the East of the intersection of Hacks Cross Road and Hwy 178. The entrance is on the North side of Hwy 178.
RAD Landfill accepts construction and demolition type material. Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Special Waste (SW) are NOT acceptable at this landfill, however we do have other landfills in the greater Memphis market that are permitted for MSW and SW. RAD Landfill also will accept whole tires for a fee. We will then take them to be recycled.
We can provide (through our sister company) transportation and disposal of all non-hazardous waste streams, including asbestos and contaminated soils.
We are very proud of our facility and welcome the opportunity to address your disposal needs. Our focus is on safety and customer service. We strive to achieve easy and rapid access in and out of the facility. We feel certain that we will exceed your expectations of your disposal requirements. We would also like to extend an invitation to give you a tour of our facility during our normal business hours, just come to the scale house.
This landfill is a municipal Class I and II Rubbish site operating under a permit issued by the State.
RAD can only accept the following types of wastes:
construction and demolition debris, such as wood, metal, etc
brick, mortar concrete, stone, and asphalt
cardboard
natural vegetation, such as tree limbs, stumps, and leaves
furniture
plastic, glass, crockery, and metal, except containers
Railroad Avenue Landfill aligns our goals for the sustainability of resources in the community.
