Pueblo Residential Garbage Collection

Residential

Collection information: Please have your Waste Connections of Pueblo garbage container at the curb by 6:00 AM on your scheduled pickup day. Please do not block the sidewalk with your container.

Pickup guidelines:

  • Leave 3 feet between containers
  • Do not park personal vehicles within 10 feet of containers on service day
  • Handles should face towards your house
  • Do not drill into, bolt or fasten anything to the cart
  • Trash should not be higher than the lid of the container or be placed on top of the lid
  • Trash should be bagged and tied
  • Do not pack materials tightly into cart

Residential Cart

Waste Connections of Pueblo residential customers receive a 96-gallon container for weekly pickup.

If you have extra garbage or large items – furniture, carpet etc. - that will not fit inside the container, please contact customer service at 719-948-0047​ at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled pickup day. Additional charges may apply.

Residential Trash Service Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel your account within 6 months, your account may be charged a $20 early cancellation fee. Cancellation of services is the responsibility of the customer. Services and charges will continue until notice of cancellation is received in our business office. Balance is due at time of cancellation or a $75 cancel/recovery fee will apply. If service is cancelled due to a lower price from a competitor, we ask that the customer continue service through the paid period.

Billing Cycle - Quarterly

Acceptable Items:

  • Normal non-hazardous household waste
  • Double bagged cat litter or dog waste

Restricted Items:

  • 55-gallon drums (unless both ends are cut out and drum is flattened)
  • Acid
  • Ashes, hot or cold
  • Broken glass, broken mirrors (unless wrapped in newspaper and labeled)
  • Computer monitors
  • Concrete or rock
  • Dead animals
  • Dirt or sod
  • Electronics
  • Fertilizer (depends on quantity-please call customer service at 719-591-5000 before placing in trash)
  • Firecrackers
  • Fluorescent tube lighting rods, bulbs
  • Gasoline
  • Hazardous materials
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Insecticide and chemicals
  • Lawnmowers and other home yard equipment (unless the gas and oil have been completely removed)
  • Liquids
  • Medical waste
  • Motor oil
  • Paints, stains, sealants (lids must be open and contents dry)
  • Pesticides or acids
  • Products and items containing mercury
  • Propane tanks
  • Razor blades (unless placed in a hard plastic container with a screw-on lid)

Construction Trash

Waste Connections of Pueblo provides a wide variety of temporary open-top roll-off containers. Whether you are remodeling a home, cleaning out a building, or collecting debris on a construction site, our experienced and DOT-approved employees can furnish quick and efficient setups to meet your needs.

Convenience

Roll-offs will make debris removal from your site convenient and affordable. Waste Connections offers both regularly-scheduled pickups and requested pickup schedules for our Pueblo construction customers. Contact us to determine roll-off needs for your project.

Safety Tips:

  • Containers should never be positioned underneath overhead power lines to avoid danger of electrocution or damages to vehicles.
  • Toxic, hazardous, liquids, or flammable materials are not allowed in the containers.
  • Do not overload the containers. If can is filled over the top, we cannot dump.
  • Containers can be placed on a driveway or concrete slab.
  • Keep children away from all containers.

Construction Recycling

Today, more and more builders are adopting sustainable, or green, construction practices. Waste Connections of Pueblo has construction recycling services to support these efforts and encourage responsible management of the environment.

We offer construction recycling as needed for both large and small projects. Blueprints, cardboard, and certain other job site materials are recyclable items. For Pueblo area construction waste collection customers, pickup dates are scheduled when service arrangements are made. Call-in pickup is also offered for commercial customers.

FAQ

Where should I place my residential garbage cart?

Please place them at the curb with the arrows pointing toward the street (in the alley for alley pickups). Place the containers at least 3 feet apart.

What time should residential garbage be out for pickup?

All containers should be out by 6:00 AM.

Where do I recycle electronics?

Please do not put any electronic items in any Waste Connections container. The State of Colorado publishes these guidelines for electronic waste​ for residents. ​ They also publish a list​ of electronic recycling locations and a map​ of electronic recycling locations.

How often is Commercial recycling picked up?

Commercial recycling pickup schedules are determined at the time the customer establishes an account.

Do you offer Online Bill Pay?

Do you take credit cards? Is there a fee? Which cards do you accept?

Yes. We take credit cards and there is no fee. We accept American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

What if I have extra items to be picked up?

Please call us 24 hours in advance of your pickup day at 719-948-0047. We can schedule an extra pickup for an additional charge.

What are your office hours?

We are open from 08:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday. As a measurement of COVID, on Friday, we are open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

What are your holiday hours?

Our Holiday Schedule is found under the Schedule​ section. Residential: If the holiday falls on or before your scheduled pickup day (Monday through Friday), service will be delayed one day. (Example: Thanksgiving Day - Thursday customers will be picked up on Friday, Friday customers will be picked up Saturday). Commercial: Please contact customer service.

What is your billing cycle?

Residential customers are billed quarterly. ​ Commercial customers are billed on a monthly basis.

How should customers dispose of Hazardous Waste materials?

Waste Connections of Pueblo is not licensed to collect hazardous waste. To learn more about Colorado hazardous waste management and recycling, visit the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
